Julia was raised in Texas and found the field of Speech Pathology after a younger cousin was diagnosed with autism and she accompanied her aunt and cousin to speech therapy. She declared her major in 9th grade and has never looked back. She was delighted to learn how vast the field is and the various types of communication disorders we treat.
When not working, she enjoys spending time in New York with her daughter, Emily or in Texas with her family. She enjoys volunteering at the Bob Hope USO at LAX and is a serious New Orleans Saints fan (a Dallas Cowboys defector). She was a Girl Scout for 12 years and was a Girl Scout leader for 10 years.
She enjoys yoga, country music and taking walks with Opie, but she is passionate about her singing lessons and loves working on songs from Edith Piaf, to Patsy Cline to George Gershwin. She is drawn to interior design, period architecture and is shamelessly addicted to Downton Abbey. Her greatest joy in speech pathology is the realization someone’s life has been changed in a positive way forever.
